Letter Targets Mortgage Account Holders
Recently, some SEFCU members received mail from Nationwide Biweekly Administration. The letter encourages recipients to change how they make their monthly mortgage payments to weekly or bi-weekly as a way to save money and reduce the repayment period of their mortgage.
While this letter references SEFCU, it is not sent or endorsed by the credit union. It is always recommended that personal or sensitive information such as loan numbers, loan amounts, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers be kept confidential and not provided to third parties. If you ever have any questions regarding a letter or phone call you receive, we recommend contacting the credit union.
What You Can Do
If you receive this letter (or even if you don’t) and are looking for assistance to make your mortgage payments more affordable, we recommend using a SEFCU-endorsed method. The credit union offers a free service called BALANCE®, a program to assist members with financial planning and debt management. If you would like more information about how you can save money or become more financially savvy, call BALANCE at 888-456-2227. You can also call SEFCU’s Member Solutions Center at 518-452-8183 or 800-727-3328.
As always, be sure to use only trusted Websites and phone numbers when discussing personal or account information.
