Can I use my SEFCU Gift Card at an ATM?

No. Although you have a PIN you cannot use your gift card to perform ATM transactions. You can perform PIN purchases but you cannot request cash back during the purchase.

Can I withdraw funds or access account information using an ATM?

No, ATM transactions are not allowed. You can use your SEFCU Gift Card for signature purchases and PIN purchases. However, cash-back during a PIN purchase is not permitted.

Where can I use my SEFCU Gift Card?

Your card can be used for purchases anywhere Mastercard® is accepted.

Is my SEFCU Gift Card the same as a credit card?

No, your Gift Card is not a credit card. You can only spend the amount available on the Gift Card.

Is my SEFCU Gift Card like a debit card?

Yes and no. Like a debit card, you can spend only the funds available. However, unlike a debit card, you do not have a bank account associated with the Gift Card.

Can someone other than me use my SEFCU Gift Card to make purchases?

No, only the person whose signature is on the back of the card is authorized to use the Gift Card. The card must be signed upon receipt, before it is used to make a purchase.

Can I make purchases on the Internet with my SEFCU Gift Card?

Yes, you can make purchases on the Internet with your card up to the amount available on the card. Enter your card number, expiration date, and any other information requested by the Internet site. Note: Some online merchants may not accept Gift Cards.

Will I be charged a fee for using my card at a participating merchant?

No, you will not be charged a fee for making a purchase at a participating merchant.

What if the item I want to purchase costs more than the value of my SEFCU Gift Card?

When you present your SEFCU Gift Card as payment, simply inform the cashier of the value of your card. You can then choose another form of payment for the remaining portion of your purchase.

Can I add funds to the card?

No, additional funds cannot be added to your SEFCU Gift Card. It can only be loaded with funds once.

Can my SEFCU Gift Card be replaced if it is lost or stolen?

If your SEFCU Gift Card has been registered online, a replacement card can be requested if it is lost or stolen. There is a $5 replacement fee. If your Gift Card has not been registered, it should be treated the same as cash and can not be replaced if lost or stolen.
