In 1991, SEFCU established a Charities Committee to organize and manage its charitable events and contributions. In the credit union tradition of people helping people, the Committee's purpose was to ensure ongoing civic involvement and dedication to children in the communities that SEFCU serves. In 1995, we were recognized as a not-for-profit and the Committee became the SEFCU Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that supports a variety of organizations and causes in the communities SEFCU serves.
Some of the organizations that have benefited from Foundation fundraising include the American Cancer Society; Big Brothers Big Sisters; Center for Disabilities Services; Elmcrests Childrens Center; Hope House; MOMs House; Regional Food Bank; Ronald McDonald House; St. Anne Institute; Unity House, and hundreds more..
