What is a Credit Union?

A credit union (like SEFCU) is a cooperative financial institution, owned and controlled by the people who use its services, called members. You can rest easy knowing your money is safe here. Like all federal credit unions, SEFCU is chartered, regulated, and insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. government agency created for just this purpose. Member accounts are insured up to at least $250,000 per member account, and up to $250,000 for IRA accounts.

How do you become a member?

Becoming a member is easy and there are a ton of ways you can qualify. SEFCU is not just for State employees. Take our membership eligibility quiz and you'll know in minutes how you may qualify.

Why choose SEFCU?

When it comes to banking SEFCU takes a strong focus on security, technology, and member service.  When it comes to community and financial well-being SEFCU is continually changing lives every day through educational programs and community outreach.
