Summer of Luvs Prevents Leaks with $20,000!

Volunteers standing next to diapers

After providing $25,000 in summer essentials to organizations throughout our neighborhoods, SEFCU’s Summer of Luvs set out to improve leak guards and prevent wetness. The season was swaddled out with $20,000 in absorbent protection. Thanks to Giving for Good, SEFCU volunteers distributed nearly $10,000 of assorted sized diapers during round one and came back for more to close out the summer with another $10,000!

Many organizations are always looking for donations of diapers. Why are diapers always in need? According to the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN), federal assistance programs do not currently provide adequate funds for buying diapers. Diapers cannot be bought with Supplemental Nutrition Assistance program (SNAP) - formerly called Food Stamps - or WIC.
