Jillian Risko, Why I Care Employee Recipient

Jillian Risko, Employee Recipient

When Jillian joined SEFCU three and a half years ago, she remembers learning about SEFCU’s commitment to volunteerism and the community. It was because of the positivity in the room that day and the strong connection she felt to some of the causes that SEFCU supports that she made a pledge to make a difference in someone’s life every day. And Jillian is doing just that.

In 2019 she volunteered for the Toys for Tots Convoy of Hope where toys that are collected throughout the region are sorted, organized, and then distributed to children in time for the holidays. She said “participating in the Convoy for Hope and witnessing firsthand the difference that we are making in the lives of children and families is an amazing thing to see.” Through her involvement with the Convoy she was able to see the impact individuals and businesses can have when they work together.

In addition to volunteering her time for the Toys for Tots Convoy of Hope, she is also an active volunteer for the SEFCU Foundation, participating in SEFCU’s Monopoly® Tournament to benefit the Center for Disability Services, Capital Region’s Smartest Company, Operation Fitness, and renovation projects as part of SEFCU’s Renovate That Team.
