Banking that grows with your child
For young children, a savings account might be enough, but as your child becomes a teen, he or she might need a free checking account to pay bills. With the Smart Sense account, responsible members, 14 and older, can get a free checking account and debit card. Plus, you can help them manage their account with our online banking service, SEFCU OnLine.
Paying for education
As the cost of education rises, paying for it is becoming more of a challenge. SEFCU understands the financial strain this can put on a family, so beginning in 2006, Smart Sense members can qualify for merit based $500 or $1,000 scholarships awarded annually.
Learning about money
Through fun, educational sources, like Googolplex, we’ll help our youngest members establish healthy financial habits by encouraging responsible saving and spending. Then, as they become teenagers, we’ll teach them how to manage a checking account, debit card, and build their credit for the future.
