International Service Assessment (ISA) Fee to Appear Separately for Foreign Transactions
Effective Friday, February 3, 2006 you will notice a change in how foreign transactions are posted to your SEFCU account and how they appear on your member statement when you use your Visa® debit card to make purchases, cash advances or ATM withdrawals in a foreign country.
Purchases, cash advances or ATM withdrawals made in non-U.S. dollars will be converted and billed to your account in US dollars under the regulations determined by Visa. SEFCU will now split out the transaction amount from the 1% currency conversion fee on your member statement. Previously, these amounts were netted together and posted as a single transaction. The transaction description appearing in your account history for this fee will read “ISA Fee.” The 1% fee has not changed…just how it appears on your statement will change.
